SiteDocs Data Hosting

Where is my SiteDocs Data Stored?

Our data is securely hosted with Microsoft Azure in the USA, Canada, or Australia. Customers have the option to choose their Data Center when their account is created. For more information on how your SiteDocs data is securely stored, please click here.

Our company doesn’t allow data storage in the USA; what can we do?

Some companies have policies regarding data storage.  Typically the concern is regarding the Patriot Act, which allows the NSA to request that Microsoft give access to data in its data center.

  1. It’s difficult to imagine that the NSA or USA Government would have any need to request a company's safety documents and information from Microsoft.
  2. Poor passwords, or user error, are far more likely to result in data being viewed by unauthorized parties than having data hosted in the USA.

Our opinion is that there isn’t any significant risk in having data from an organization in a USA Data Center.

Even if the risk is low, our company policy is non-negotiable; what can we do?

We do understand that some organizations have these data policies in place for a wider variety of reasons, and so in these cases, customers can choose to have their data stored in the Canadian or Australian Data Center.

Please Note: Data Storage is selected before a SiteDocs account is created. If you would like to change your data storage location, the account will be created from scratch, and data cannot be transferred from other Data Centers.

Will SiteDocs ever host data in other countries?

SiteDocs launched Canadian and Australian Data Centers in 2026. We are currently in the process of evaluating further multi-region hosting; stay tuned for updates in the future! If you have a specific country that you would like to see added as a storage option, please let our Support Team know at support@sitedocs.com and they can pass the request on to the Development Team for consideration.
