Setting Up & Using The View Image Form Item

Follow

With the Image File Form Item, you can directly embed Images into your Form Templates so Workers can see specific Images right in the body of the form itself and even annotate them!

Building An View Image Form Item Into A Form Template:

From the Form Builder in the Admin Panel (under Setup), either edit a current Form Template or create a new Form. When you select "Add Item" you'll see the "View Image" Form Item in the Form Item Library near the bottom of the list.

Interacting with the View Image Form Item in the App:

The Image will be placed in-line with the rest of the selected Form Items in the Form Template. Once the Form Template is made visible ("View Form on App" is selected), Workers will then be able to see the Image in the Form Template and select the Blue Pencil Icon in the top right corner of the image to Annotate it. The annotation tool allows Workers to draw on the image, add text, and rotate the image.

Make a Mistake?

No problem! Simply select the Trash Can Icon to remove your annotations and start over. This can be done while filling out the Form originally and also while revising a previously signed Form.

Printing These Forms:

Forms with an View Image Form Item will display like other forms when printed, with any Image File(s) placed in-line with the rest of your Form Items. Remember that adding a large number of Image File Form Items or large size Images can possibly cause delays in rendering the finalized signed Form. In other words, use this Form Item responsibly.

Recommendations For A Great Experience:

  • No more than eight 2-10 Image Files per form.
  • No larger than 30MB for a single Image File (in fact, any larger than this and it won't upload at all). For reference, the average size of a photo taken by a smartphone is 9MB.
  • Only .JPEG and .PNG files are supported.

Also, if your Workers are completing Forms on one of our Mobile Apps, this Form Item only works with SiteDocs version 4.2 or later. So, if you want your Workers to see the images you embed in your Form Templates, please ensure they are on the latest version.

A Few Ways You Might Use The View Image Form Item:

  • Add a Risk Matrix to a Hazard Assessment Form or a diagram to an Inspection Form
  • Annotate images to circle where an injury occurred for an Incident Report
  • Include a larger version of your company logo in any Form

I want to know how to decrease the actual viewing size of the image in the form. The photos take up too much room in the form.  I tried shrinking the size of the photo but it didn't work.

Hi Kris, that's a great suggestion! I will forward it on to our Development Team for consideration in their process.
