Setting Up Internal Notifications With SiteDocs

Many companies want to set up a notification system within their company so that certain parties are notified when something specific happens - for example, when an Incident Report is completed in the account, the Safety Officer and the CEO want to know about it right away without having to log into the Admin Panel.

There are two routes you can take to set this kind of notification system up:

SiteDocs Auto-Share by Email

Our Auto-Share by Email feature is designed to make sharing your signed documents with an email recipient quick and simple. Many companies are able to utilize it for creating internal notifications as well!

Auto-Share by Email can be account-wide or location-specific, which means you will need to set up your "internal notification" relationship on every location in your account. For more information on how to set up Auto-Share by Email, see our help article.

Great for: Highly customizable notifications for each location in your account.

Zapier Integration

Zapier is a 3rd party program that takes a triggering action from one system and performs a resulting action in another system. For example, the triggering action in our scenario would be the signed Incident Report in your SiteDocs account and the resulting action could be an email to certain recipients. Zapier is a powerful program that integrates with hundreds of other systems and apps, so you have lots of options with it.

Using Zapier for your internal notifications means that you can set up one "zap" to run across your entire SiteDocs account (rather than location-specific) and you have additional options on the notifications that go out (email, text message, etc).

Since Zapier is a 3rd party program, you may need to purchase a subscription with them independently to set up your internal notifications, although some can be done for free. The lowest Zapier subscription is approximately $20 USD/month (billed annually) and is typically more than sufficient for SiteDocs customers.
