Why Does SiteDocs Ask For Permission To Access My Device's Settings?

What Permissions Are Asked For?

When you open the SiteDocs mobile app for the first time, SiteDocs asks for the following permissions:

Apple Devices (iOS):

  • Notifications
  • Photos
  • Camera
  • Location

Android Devices:

  • Storage
  • Make and Manage Calls
  • Camera
  • Location

SiteDocs needs access to these components of your device in order to function fully and give you an optimal SiteDocs experience, especially with your Forms.

Why Are These Permissions Important?

Apple Devices:
Notifications - Without this permission, you will not receive notifications when you are assigned a Flag and Follow Up Form. (For more information about Flag and Follow Up Forms, click here.)

Photos - Without this permission, you will not be able to attach existing photos from your photo gallery to your forms.

Camera - Without this permission, you will not be able to take photos on the spot and attach them to your forms.

Location - Without this permission, GPS Coordinates will not be attached to your Signatures or to any GPS Location Form Items. Furthermore, the "Emergency Locations Nearby" will not be available.

Android Devices:
StorageWithout this permission, you will not be able to attach existing photos from your photo gallery to your forms. Also, you will also not be able to open any PDF documents that have been uploaded to your app by an Administrator.

Make and Manage Phone Calls - Without this permission, you will not be able to select a worker's phone number and call it from inside the app.

Camera - Without this permission, you will not be able to take photos on the spot and attach them to your forms.

Location - Without this permission, GPS Coordinates will not be attached to your Signatures or to any GPS Location Form Items. Furthermore, the "Emergency Locations Nearby" will not be available.

How Can These Permissions Be Turned On Later?

If any of these permissions were denied or turned off when the app was first installed and you would like to turn them on at a later time, follow the steps below:

Apple Devices:

  1. Select "Settings" on your device.
  2. Scroll down to "SiteDocs".
  3. Select the Permission in question and switch it on.

Android Devices:

  1. Open your "Settings" App.
  2. Scroll down to "Applications" or "Applications Manager".
  3. Scroll down to "SiteDocs".
  4. Select the Permission in question and switch it on.
